The PAGC Education has continued to evolve following the Education Transformation initiative. Since First Nations have assumed their own second-level services, the department has stepped away from its second-level service delivery with a new focus of the PAGC Education third-level services. For instance, the office is creating proposals for various third-level services including Self-Administered Policing, Indigenous Community Corrections Initiative, Jordan’s Principle, and Northern Lights Community Development Corporation. The department has also partnered with Sask Ministry, LEADS, and Saskatchewan Teachers Federation in providing training on Intergenerational Trauma and Resiliency Training for various professions and trades-training programs.

Many educational resources have been created that speak to the experiences of the Residential School experience, along with a curriculum developed that describes the neuro-science behind intergenerational trauma specifically for teachers and administrators. The PAGC Education office has also developed Cree, Dene, and Dakota books for grade 5-12 students as part of the Indigenous Languages Act. Most recently, the PAGC Education office has been working with Dr. Rose Roberts on Woodland Cree Myths and Legends. This pilot project is the beginning of a series of books for future sectors to collect their local stories with Elders, and community members.

Currently, the office is creating proposals for other national programs that positively respond to Indigenous housing/homelessness concerns. Both staff members are currently completing their Ph.D. and Doctorate of Education degrees with a focus on decolonization strategies for educational institutions. Through an Indigenous lens, they can provide professional training, such as Education Board Training, Team Building Activities, Technology and Education, Environmental Scan of Education Ecosystems, Policy Development, and introduction to the Danielson Framework for teachers, principals and administrators.
