The Prince Albert Grand Council is now accepting applications for (2) full-time Health Wellness Support Workers.
Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Health and/or delegate, the Health and Wellness Support worker will be responsible to:
- Provide trauma-informed cultural and emotional supports of class members and potential class members
- Work in collaboration with existing PAGC health and social programs, both internally and externally
- Plan, coordinate and facilitate community information/engagements sessions
- Travel to communities to assist in the delivery of holistic health and wellness programs
- Generate monthly program statistics and reports
- Other duties as requested
Qualifications
- Degree or certificate in the health or human services program
- Experience working with mental health and wellness issues
- Possess a strong understanding and knowledge of First Nations culture, values, language, spirituality and community environment
- Minimum 5 years sobriety and must maintain a health lifestyle
- Certification in crisis-intervention, post-traumatic stress, conflict resolution, vicarious trauma and life-skills coaching
- Ability to work effectively within a holistic health approach
- Must hold a valid Driver’s License
Assets
- Ability to maintain and exercise a high degree of confidentiality
- Willing and able to travel, both by air and road
- Must have strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to speak a First Nations language is an asset
