The Prince Albert Grand Council is inviting applications for the position of Mental Health Therapist. This position will provide professional counselling and therapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups within PAGC First Nation communities.
Reporting to the Community Health Supervisor the successful applicant will work primarily out of the PAGC Office, with some travel required to PAGC communities to support mental wellness services, community-based programming, and collaboration with local health and mental wellness teams.
Location: PAGC Office, with some travel required to PAGC First Nation communities
The ideal candidate will:
- Provide compassionate, culturally safe mental health counselling and support.
- Use trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches in working with clients and families.
- Support assessments, treatment planning, safety planning, crisis response, referrals, and follow-up services.
- Collaborate with PAGC communities, health staff, schools, family supports, and external service providers.
- Demonstrate professionalism, strong communication skills, confidentiality, and sound clinical judgment.
Qualifications: Applicants must have demonstrated experience providing mental health therapy, counselling, or related clinical services and current registration or licensure with an appropriate professional regulatory body. Experience working with First Nation communities and the ability to speak a First Nations language are considered assets.
