NIGHT SECURITY WORKER

POSITION SUMMARY

YUASNI TIPI FAMILY TREATMENT CENTRE -PAGC is actively seeking to recruit a Part Time Night Security Worker (Weekend). This position is responsible for ensuring the highest safety and security standards for the Inpatient Treatment Centre and families (subject to Personnel Policies and Procedures of Prince Albert Grand Council).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensuring safety of families, personnel and property;
  • Protecting property, monitoring surveillance and alarms;
  • Patrolling areas to due security checks;
  • Developing and implementing stand and operating procedures for reporting;
  • Dealing with incidents, detecting and reporting any irregularities and bringing up suggestions for improvement;
  • Carrying out duties while maintain excellent standards of care;
  • Immediate response to emergencies whenever necessary to assist families.
  • Must tackle stressful events with a calm demeanor, while responsibly handling a crowd, and guide them to safety routes and exits when needed;
  • Provides a warm, homelike environment for the family members;
  • Participate in, in-service and other training sessions required and authorized by Director;
  • Open to participate in cultural, recreational and community activities related to the Centre, as assigned by the Director.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two (2) years continuous sobriety/abstainer if required by organizational policy.
  • Fluency in English a requirement, fluency in a First Nations language of the Prince Albert Grand Council area an asset;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Must be familiar with video monitoring technology and safety protocols;
  • Must be able to work with minimum supervision
  • Able to work independently and as a member of a multi-disciplinary team;
  • Knowledge of Indigenous language and culture;
  • A minimum of two (2) years work experience;
  • Security Officer Training or certification related to security work;
  • Must produce a satisfactory driver’s abstract;
  • Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license.
