The Prince Albert Grand Council is accepting applications for the position for two (2) highly motivated individuals to fill full time term positions of the Residential School Wellness Worker. The successful applicants will provide emotional support to residential school claimants and their families. The term is based on funding availability.
DUTIES (Include but not limited to):
- Be an active resource for all Prince Albert Grand Council First Nations for claim processes and settlements
- Plan and provide Healing and Wellness Workshops such as Grief and Loss sessions as needed or upon request, i.e., sharing circles, debriefing, etc.
- Provide referrals to mental health therapists and other programs/resources to address client needs
- Provide Trauma Informed Emotional and Cultural Support and services
- Build skills and seek professional development that will support staff and community needs
QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Minimum:
- 3-5 years’ experience in community development, counseling and facilitation
Preferred:
- Post-secondary education in Human Services, Social Work, Community Health & Wellness or other relevant discipline
- 5 or more years’ experience in community development, counseling and facilitation
Other:
- Be familiar with and understand First Nation barriers/issues/culture
