Do you want to be part of a team that empowers and supports youth to be the best version of themselves? If so, Prince Albert Grand Council is now accepting applications for one part-time mental health therapist for the Youth Empowerment Strategy.
We are Seeking a compassionate and culturally grounded Mental Health Therapist to support the mental, emotional, spiritual and social well-being of our First Nations Youth. This role walks alongside youth in their healing journeys by providing culturally responsive, trauma-informed counselling services that honour resilience, identity and community strengths.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Provide one-on-one counselling to First Nations Youth
- Use trauma-informed and culturally safe approaches
- Collaborate with families, caregivers, Elders and Community supports
- Support youth through strength-based care planning
- Provide crisis support and safety planning when needed
- Contribute to program reporting requirements
- Strong knowledge and awareness of First Nations culture history
- Related work experience within a organization or community
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, Counselling, Psychology or related field
- Registered and in good standing with appropriate Saskatchewan regulatory body
- Experience working with children and youth
- Knowledge in intergenerational trauma and Indigenous community contexts
- Commitment to cultural safety and respectful community partnership
- Must be willing to work evenings
The position is based in Prince Albert and is dependent on funding approval.
