PAGC Media Release: PAGC says federal wildfire funding announcement repackages old money, calls for risk-based allocations to northern First Nations

PAGC received only $500,000 of nearly $42M distributed nationally, despite being in one of the highest wildfire risk regions in Canada. Grand Chief Brian Hardlotte is calling for risk-based, community-led funding that respects Treaty rights and provides direct investment in equipment and training so First Nations firefighters can action fires in their territories.
